Most garage door openers have a two wire "interface" (not two wire as in i2c) that carries ~+5V; shorting these wires tells the opener to open/close. You will want to use a relay to do the "shorting work" however (pretty simple). I built a PIC based RFID reader that I use to open/close my garage door; it is (not very well) documented here. But I'd be happy to answer your questions about this.

Very impressive job you did!!! And your projects are very good!!!I think I'm going to quit of the idea making the garage door... :? If i got it clear you are in a good way of connectin the cam on to BW, I'm I right? And something else that I have noticed in your code is tha you are using an external memory... An EPROM, what size of the EPROM whould be satisfactory for the project?

The only storage used for that project is the 1024 bytes of Eeprom built into every Atmega328. If you want to save pictures from a serial camera onto the arduino you will need some storage device. You could wire up an SD card or use the FlashShield/Dataflash.

I took a little break from this project ( for my beer drinking project :D ) but should be able to have something working this week. It can be hard work, especially since documentation for this cam isn't too clear. I still haven't seen a FULL picture from it yet, but I get most of the data. Are you actually considering buying this cam, or just curious on progress? Because it WILL work, I just had to start from scratch...

sakisgen, schematic for what? This serial camera or my old project? I haven't made any fancy schematics for that project yet.

How's this for progress...

I'll post more info on this specific camera in a different thread when I get wifi working. This pic is under 6k (with highest compression).
And I'll do a full write-up (with schematics) on my weatherStation elsewhere.

sakisgen, thanosgen: Are you guys working together? Same person? Just curious...

Jared, what is that awesome lab you're working in -- seems like you have a lot of space. :)

That is my underground lair  Just kidding, it's actually on the 2nd floor...It's the projection booth at the theatre I work. I had some downtime while waiting for a film to finish.

BTW, I FINALLY got a jpeg sent over wifi last night. No saving, no extra buffers. So now I just need to make it battery friendly (power down, etc.)
Also, I read somewhere on here that software serial doesn't work with the WiShield and no further explanation. Turns out it was just an interrupt conflict, so I'll find that thread and post my findings there.
