Discussion about the upcoming YellowJacket (WiFi+Arduino mini).

trouble uploading sketches

Postby mjpedersen » Tue Apr 27, 2010 7:54 am

hi all,

just unpacked my new YellowJacket. Installed latest Arduino018 and FTDI driver on MacBookPro running Mac OS 10.5.8. Connected YellowJacket via SparkFun FTDI Basic Breakout board, which is supposed to support autoreset on uploading sketches. I can see a red power led and a blinking green led on the YellowJacket, so it seems to be alive. Selected "Arduino Mini" as the board type and selected the correct serial port. Tried uploading the WebServer sketch and I can see a couple of flashes of the TX light on the FTDI breakout board, but the sketch fails to upload with a "avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding" error message.

Any advice welcome. I'm sure I'm missing something basic. Is it just that the FTDI isn't auto resetting as expected? If so, what do I need to do to force a reset?

Thanks for any help.

hi,

I have the same issue with the Blackwidow v 1.0.
I connect it via USB to my mac, running OSX 10.5.8. I have the drivers installed, they work fine with all other arduino's I have.
when I try to upload the patch the arduino software is reporting an error, saying the board is not responding.

Would it be possible to help us out? I have no clue what is wrong here.

ps. looking at finished projects is not giving me any ideas either on how to solve this problem.

Try selecting the 328, and if that doesn't work can you post a pic of your wiring arrangement?

For the Yellow Jacket I believe that you want to set the same board as you would for a "regular" Duemilanove. Have not tried it myself but think I remember a recent thread that indicated so.
