did you try ad-hoc mode? at least less hardware involved for this mode.

Haven't tried ad-hoc mode yet. However, ad-hoc mode just won't work for my application. Furthermore, it SHOULD work in infrastructure mode...

Unfortunately, my wireless router doesn't support port mirroring for either wired or wireless connections/ports. Most consumer-grade models don't. Does anyone know if any diagnostics information can be routed out the serial port?

Brennon, was your problem never solved? This sounds hokey but how are you powering your WiShields? In one case I found that having the power supply near my wishield interfered with the wireless...

Nope...never resolved, and powering via battery. Gave up on the WiShield, ultimately. Went with Bluetooth and everything worked like a charm--WiShield just kept choking on my throughput (even though I really wasn't pushing it hard at all).
