Very, very interesting. So you have basically pinpointed (or come close to pinpointing) why Verizon FIOS routers do not work with the wishield. I have observed the exact same behavior you described.

It would appear that I have run into this same problem: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=370. I have a DLINK I can use to get around it but wanted to know if you ever came up with a modification to the software that allowed you to solve the problem.
