A Question about the compatible accesspoint list.
What I don't understand is why is the WiShield not compatible with most or all access points? I had my ap die on me the other day and went out and got a new one (with out looking at the list). I got a D-Link DIR-655 which looked good and was inexpensive. It works great with my three computers (all apple, macbook pro, mac mini, ipod touch) and makes using Skype even better. But it does not seem to want to work with the WiShield 2. If the WiShield 2 is fully WiFi compatible why is it that a ap that works with other devices does not work with the WiShield? Is it a hardware or a software issue?
I do see that the DIR-655 is on the list of ap's that work, but. . . Well I do not fully agree with that. I can not get it to work at all with WPA or WPA2 but it does seem to work for a while with WEP and open (I tried the suggestion on the forum). But for a while is not so useful. It will sit there fine, server up a page or two, but if left alone for a while (10 minutes maybe) before a new page is asked for, it will print out that a new connection is being made, but never gets to my 'sendMyPage' function.
It just seems kind of odd.
