New and improved WiShield library released

A new and improved version of the WiShield library has been released. The library includes a port of the uIP TCP/IP stack which has been very stable is our testing process and definitely a lot better than the simplified stack which was included in the previous release.

What are the major changes in the release,
  • New stable stack
  • Support for both server and client modes. So, all you guys waiting to send messages across the Internet from the Arduino can do so with the new library
  • The limitation on the size of the data packet that can be transmitted by the WiShield has now been removed. The packets can be of any size and they will be transmitted across in smaller sized chunks
  • Has a simple socket API for network programming
The library also includes a new sample WebClient sketch which can send status updates to a http://twitter.com account. You can follow our little Arduino tweet at, http://twitter.com/wishield .

More info regarding the release can be found at, http://asynclabs.com/wiki/

As before, the source code is hosted on GitHub and linked from the http://asynclabs.com/wiki/ page. This is a major update to the library and we recommend everybody update to the latest version.

So, now it's time to go make some serious noise on the Internet. Let's show the world what our Arduinos can do when connected wirelessly :D

Thanks
